Cyprus Visa – How To Apply For A Cypriot Visa
U.S. citizens who are going to Cyprus do not need a Cyprus visa if they will be staying for less than 90 days and have a valid passport and a return ticket. Travelers must have a passport that is valid for at least three months in order to enter the country. Some travelers might also be required to show evidence of sufficient funds for their trip and documents needed for their next destination, if applicable.
Travelers who will be staying in Cyprus for longer than 90 days must obtain a temporary residence visa. It’s important to note that the government of Cyprus only issues visas for areas that are directly under government control. This does not include areas that are under Turkish Cypriot administration. The government will not recognize temporary residence visas that are issued by the Turkish Cypriot administration.
Travelers must submit a completed visa application form in order to obtain a temporary residence visa. Those who submit their application by mail must have it signed by a Notary Public. In addition to the form, travelers must also submit two passport size photos, a letter stating their reasons for visiting the country, a travel itinerary, a letter of invitation if visiting friends or traveling for business and proof of sufficient funds. Visa applications must be submitted at least three weeks before the scheduled departure date.
