North Korea – How To Apply For A North Korean Visa

Going on a trip to North Korea? If so, you will need to obtain a North Korea Visa in order to travel there. Currently, we cannot assist travelers with obtaining a North Korea Visa. Travelers to North Korea cannot travel independently, they will have to schedule a packaged tour by certain licensed travel agencies. The licensed travel agencies will then organize for your visa to be approved by the North Korea Foreign Ministry. Your passport should also be in order before you travel to North Korea. We recommend that there be at least 6 months validity on your passport after your trip to North Korea. Also, we recommend that you have at least (2) blank visa pages in your passport to accommodate for any visa stamps.

North Korea Visa Requirements

Though we do not know the exact documentation necessary to obtain a North Korea Visa, we can provide you with the documents that are usually in need. These documents are a North Korea visa application form, your signed United States passport with at least 6 months validity, (2) passport photographs, an itinerary of your trip, and proof of a yellow fever vaccination. Also, you should provide a copy of your hotel reservations with the applicant’s name on the reservation for the hotel, or if staying with family or friends, a notarized letter of invitation from them.

If traveling on Business, everything above should be provided as well as a business invitation. A business invitation should include an introduction of the applicant, the nature of the business that will be conducted on the trip, and state the type of visa and preferred validity length. The business invitation should be written on the company’s letterhead that you are employed with.
