When you board the Star Princess, you are setting foot on a ship that set a new bar for the cruise experience. Featuring the first swim against the tide lap pool available on a cruise ship. The largest onboard casino at sea, and the first cruise ship wedding chapel. The Star Princess nails what it means to be a luxury cruise ship.

Star Princess

Perhaps the most intriguing feature of the Star Princess is the famed shopping cart handle protruding above the stern of the ship. This interesting focal piece of the ship design actually contains the Disco in the Sky. The design of this structure quickly became the ship calling card. Making it recognizable far from port.

Amenities

Two swimming pools aboard the decks of the Star Princess give guests options on their experience. One features a retracting glass canopy roof which allows swimming even during inclement weather. The other is a tier design that sits at the stern of the ship and overlooks the ocean below.

The mantra of the Star Princess is “Big Ship Choice, Small Ship Feel” and this is displayed in the nooks and crannies built into the ship to give voyagers quiet spaces and lots of privacy. The ship features a small library, a writing room, and a card room.

The younger voyagers are not left out, either. Kids have their own sacred spaces, including Discovery Camp, which features several age-appropriate areas. The Treehouse gives 3-7 year olds a whimsical, forest themed playroom complete with Discovery Channel themed activities. The Lodge is for children 8-12 and has an outdoor adventure theme and features skeeball, air hockey, California Science Center programs, talent shows, dancing, and more. Teens have the Beach House, a contemporary “hang out” lounge with hip-hop dancing classes, video game tournaments, and the Rock the Boat teens-only party.

When you book a cruise with the Star Princess, you are guaranteed to have the best of both worlds. Both a luxury and family cruise all aboard one ship.
