Question: When applying for a U.S. Passport, must I do so in person or can I use companies to help with the application?
Answer: The process of applying for and receiving your first passport requires that you take an oath. In addition, you must sign your application in person in front of passport agent. Therefore, you cannot apply for your first passport using a service or friend. There are many passport bureaus throughout the U.S. Some of those offices remain open on Saturday to accommodate people whose work schedule does not allow them to visit during weekdays.
