Answer: Normally, passports arrive within 10 days of application. Unless, you have requested overnight delivery and have paid the appropriate fees. However obtaining a passport in a day is possible. If you waited for more than 10 business days and have not yet received your passport, contact The National Passport Information Center. The phone number for the National Passport Information Center is 1-877-487-2778.
They will ask you to confirm the date the passport was mailed. Also, the mailing address to which you mail it. They will assist you in filing a claim indicating that the passport did not arrive and you are not in receipt of it.
Importantly, you must file this report within 90 days of applying for the passport. Otherwise, you are require to re-file for the passport and pay the application fees again.
There is also a method of obtaining a passport in a day by using expedited passport will call service. You can do this at any Regional Passport Agency. Normally expedited service takes 8+ days but you can request “will call” status that will enable you to pick up your passport in 24-48 hours.
