All states require voters to register before you can cast your vote, with the sole exception of North Dakota. Voter registration deadlines vary from state to state. Some states close registration 30 days before the election, while others allow voters to register up to Election Day. Proper identification is often required at the polling place so bring your passport, drivers license, or state ID when voting.
