Suffolk University Study Abroad Program ensures that students will earn an education without borders. Suffolk University Study About Programs

Semester Programs are available in 32 different countries generally with multiple options at each country! Some highlights of these semester programs are throughout Europe in Paris France, Cork Ireland, the Tuscany region in Italy, or also in Brazil in Rio de Janerio and in Taipei in Taiwan.

Other standard programs include summer and short term trips. For the summer of 2017, there are internship and global travel seminars available in 12 different countries. Suffolk University also prides itself on a number of scholarships  available to students to make study abroad possible.

Global Travel Seminars

Global Travel Seminars are unique to Suffolk’s study abroad summer programs. The program is there to give students an inside look at how businesses operate abroad. Students can spend 7-10 days visiting companies. Here Suffolk students will get a once in a lifetime chance to network with international professionals and business owners. Also, past trips have taken students to Italy, Israel, and China!

Suffolk Madrid

Suffolk students and faculty have the opportunity to find a second home in Madrid, Spain. This is possible by the universities ties to Madrid with their locations at the Suffolk University Madrid or at Universidad CEU San Pablo. At these two Suffolk universities outside of their home base in Boston, students can choose to study courses taught in English at their of these options. On the contrary, Spanish language and culture courses are taught in Spanish at Suffolk University Madrid from an elementary level through to the advanced level.

Internships are also offered as a part of the Suffolk Madrid program as well as other extracurricular enrichment opportunities. A welcome trip is expected with this program where students and faculty will take an introductory cultural trip. Other cultural activities include ballroom dancing, theatre, flamenco, gardening and others group cultural excursions. The Universidad CEU San Pablo also offers varsity and intramural division sports and volunteer programs to keep students busy.

Passports & Visas

One of the most frequently asked questions from students planning to study abroad is regarding passports and visas. Any international trip requires a proper passport. Passports must be valid for up to six months after the return date of your trip. Passports can be renewed if expired or simply purchased and processed prior to leaving. Typically passports take 4-6 weeks to process, but expedited services are available if students need it ASAP.

Student visas are generally necessary when students study abroad, though this depends on the country they are traveling to as well as how long they plan to stay. So, for more information about your specific trip and visa needs please contact your study abroad program or the U.S. Embassy.
