Colombia Visa – How To Apply For A Columbian Visa

GENERIC VISA INFORMATIONColombia is popular destination for visitors from the United States, and a Colombia visa is required for stays of less than 90 days. However, you must have a passport valid on the day of entry (with one full page available for entry stamp), and you are limited to bringing in a maximum of $10,000 in U.S. currency. Likewise, no more than this amount can be on your person upon exit.

While not a requirement, some travelers to Colombia are asked for evidence of a return or continuing on airplane ticket. You will be granted a length of stay at the entry point by a Colombian immigration officer, and that time will be stamped in your passport. However, you may request an extension of your stay for up to 90 days by visiting a Colombian immigration office (Migración Colombia).

If you overstay your visit, you will be fined and must pay that fine before you will be allowed to leave the country. If you have been granted a stay for a period of longer than 90 days, you must register your visa at a Colombian immigration office (Migración Colombia) within 15 days or you will be subject to a fine.

If you need to apply for a passport, renew your current one, or add pages to your passport, you can use expedited services to get this done in three weeks. Expedited services run an additional $60, plus delivery charges.
