When U.S. citizens who are going to be in the Czech Republic for up to 90 days for business or leisure do not need to obtain a visa in order to enter the country. Travelers must have a passport that is valid for a minimum of three months beyond the amount of time they plan on staying.
Visa Free Travel
Those who are unsure of whether their trip is eligible for visa-free travel to the Czech Republic should ask the Consulate or Embassy before departing. Travelers should also keep in mind that some countries that border the Czech Republic might require passports to be valid for a minimum of six months. Those who are planning on visiting these countries should check the passport and visa requirements before their trip.
Travelers are also expected to have a return airline ticket, proof of finances and proof of medical insurance when entering the country.
Do U.S. Citizens Need Visa for Czech Republic?
Those who do need a Czech Republic Visa in order to enter the Czech Republic include those who are staying longer than 90 days or those who will be working or studying in the country. In order to obtain a visa, travelers should fill out and submit their application to the nearest Czech Republic Embassy or Consulate at least three to four months before their planned departure. Travelers should not leave for the Czech Republic without having a valid visa if one is required. Otherwise, they could be denied entry to the country, and the US Embassy cannot intervene on their behalf.
