Hong Kong Visa – How To Apply For A Chinese Visa

Traveling to Hong Kong soon? You will not need a Hong Kong visa to do so. You will need to provide a valid United States passport when traveling to Hong Kong. Your United States Passport should be valid for at least one month after your intended stay in Hong Kong. Keep in mind that many neighboring countries will require at least six months validity on your passport after your intended stay in that particular country. So if you are going to be traveling to neighboring countries, it is recommended that your passport is in order to cater to the requirements of other countries.

Also, when traveling to Hong Kong, you should be sure to provide proof of sufficient funds for the entirety of your stay in Hong Kong. The funds should be sufficient enough as to where you will not have to seek employment in Hong Kong to generate extra income to provide for your stay there. Also, you should have proof of an onward ticket back to your designated country.

NOTE: It may be required of you to obtain a transit visa when traveling to Hong Kong. A transit visa is used when you travel to a specific country but have a layover in a preceding country during your flight. It is recommended that you inquire about your flight and if a transit visa will be necessary.

If you have plans to travel to bordering countries of Hong Kong, you should ensure your passports have at least 6 months validity after your departure from Hong Kong to avoid any issues when traveling to countries outside of Hong Kong.
