Thailand Visa – How to apply for a Thai visa

Next destination, Thailand. For travel to Thailand, you will not need a Thailand visa for up to 30 days for tourism purposes. If you wish to stay longer than 30 days in Thailand, then you will need to obtain a Thailand visa. Also, if traveling on business to Thailand, you will need a business visa in order to do so. In addition, a valid passport will be needed for both tourism and business purposes. The passport should have at least 6 months validity left on it, a minimum of (2) blank visa pages, and ask your airline company if your flight will be connecting in another country as a transit visa may be needed.

If you will be staying in Thailand for more than 30 days and will need to obtain a tourist visa, you will need to provide the necessary documents. These documents include a Thailand visa application form, your original, signed US passport, (2) approved passport photos, a schedule or program of your trip, and a bank statement showing proof of sufficient funds.

If traveling on business purposes, a business letter and business invitation will be required. A business invitation should contain an introduction of the applicant, the type of the business that will be conducted on the trip, and state the type of visa and preferred validity length. The same will apply for a business letter with one more constraint. You will have to prove sufficient funds for your traveling purposes with a business letter. Both the letter and invitation should be written on the company’s letterhead that you are employed with.
