Turkey Visa – How To Apply For A Turkish Visa

Are you and your family going to Turkey? If so, you will need to obtain a Turkey visa for tourism, business, and official purposes. Official visas will be a single entry visa, while business and tourism visas will be multiple entry visas. Also, you should make sure that your passport is up to date and in order before your trip to Turkey. Your passport should have a minimum of 6 months validity when traveling to Turkey to avoid any issues. As of current, Turkey requires travelers to have a passport that is valid for a minimum of 2 months after their visa expires. In addition, your passport should have a minimum of (2) blank visa pages when your travel to Turkey. A transit visa may be required as well when connecting flights in another country. Some countries will require travelers to provide a transit visa when they are connecting flights in that country, be sure to double check the specifics of your flight.

For business and tourism visas, all travelers must obtain their passports electronically before they depart their countries of residence. Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs no longer provides visas upon arrival to any foreign traveler.

To obtain an official visa, your documents should include a Turkey visa application form, an original, signed United States passport, (1) approved passport photograph and a State Department Letter that states the purpose of the trip, travel dates, applicant’s name, and passport number. It should be addressed to the “Embassy of Turkey, Washington, D.C.”
