Vatican Visa – How To Apply For A Vatican Visa

Interested in a trip to visit the Vatican City? A Vatican visa will not be required to enable you to travel to the Vatican for up to 3 months. The same traveling guidelines that are set forth by Italy will be the same guidelines that are set forth by the Vatican City. Whilst traveling to the Vatican, you will need to provide a valid United States passport. Your United States Passport should be valid for a minimum of 90 days after your projected stay in Italy.

A United States passport that is valid for a minimum of three months or 90 days after departure from the Vatican will be adequate under the guidelines of the Schengen Agreement. If this rule is not followed, your trip may be cut short or you will be denied entry to the Vatican.

It is advised that six months validity after your projected stay in a country should be on your passport when you depart that country. Though Italy and Vatican require 3 months validity, other countries that share borders with Italy and the Vatican may necessitate 6 months validity. Second, check these requirements in advance before you travel to any bordering countries of Italy and the Vatican.

Also, it is important to bear in mind that you must keep blank visa pages in your passport book when you are traveling out of the country. Your passport should have at least two blank pages.

Finally, if you will be traveling to the Vatican by airplane and you have to stop in another country for a flight connection, you may need to obtain a transit visa. We advise you to inquire about your flight details with the airline company you are traveling with.
