Mariner of the Seas – Passport Requirements & Travel Information

All Mariner of the Seas Passport passengers must carry a valid and appropriate Passport.

All US Citizens embarking on closed-loop cruises, (beginning and ending at the same U.S. port), who continue on to destinations in Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico, the Bahamas, or Bermuda may re-enter the United States using alternative forms of proof of citizenship. Accepted forms of proof of citizenship include a government issued an original birth certificate or certified copy, and a government issued picture ids like a driver’s license, a Certificate of Naturalization, or a Consular Report of Born Abroad Certificate. Hospital-issued certificates and Baptismal records and are not accepted.

Our Recommendation

We recommend that all guests carry a valid passport at all times during the cruise. This will help guests transition smoothly should they need to fly out of the United States in order to join the ship after missing a scheduled embarkation; those returning to the U.S. after a cruise has ended; guests who need to fly to the U.S. before the cruise ends, as a result of personal emergencies, missing a ship’s departure, non-voluntary debarkation resulting from misconduct, or any other unexpected reason.

Guests who need to fly to the U.S. before the end of a cruise should expect to experience complications and delays resulting from the requirements of last minute booking for airline tickets in order to re-enter the U.S. if they do not have a valid U.S. passport.
