Maldives Visa – How To Apply For A Maldivan Visa

Are you interested in a trip to the Maldives? You will need to obtain a Maldives Visa in order to travel to the Maldives. Also, in addition to a Maldives visa, you will need to make sure that your passport is in order to avoid any unnecessary issues.

The Maldives Visa Requirements

You will be able to apply and obtain a Maldives visa when you arrive in the Maldives. The visa will be valid for 1 month. The validity time of the visa can be extended if needed. To obtain a visa upon arrival in the Maldives, you need to provide a means of return transportation, proof of sufficient funds for the entirety of your stay, and hotel reservations that are in the applicant’s name. The recommended amount of funds that should be carried with you is roughly $100 per day for every day that you stay in the Maldives.

It is important to note that you will need to check to make sure that your existing passport has enough blank pages to accommodate any stamps and stickers that may be necessary upon arrival. We recommend that at least 2 visa pages are left blank. Also, keep in mind the validity left on your current passport. Inquire about the specific requirements for Maldives passport validity regulations, some countries will require 6 months validity which other will require less. Lastly, inquire about your flight and if a transit visa will be necessary. You may need to obtain a transit visa if you will be connecting flights in some cases.

NOTE: If traveling to the Maldives on a private boat, you will receive a no-fee visa that is usually valid up until the day of your departure.
