Mauritania Visa – Mauritanian Visa & Travel Requirements

If you are planning to travel to Mauritania, this visa guide will provide you with the assistance needed. You will need to obtain a Mauritania Visa in order to travel to Mauritania. In addition, you will need to make sure that your passport is up to date and in order before you take your trip to Mauritania.

Unfortunately, we have very little information on how to obtain a Mauritania visa. We can provide you with the documentation that is typically needed for a visa, however, this will not be an exact list of requirements that are required by the Mauritanian immigration department. The documents that are usually required are a Mauritania visa application form, your signed United States passport with a minimum of 6 months validity left on it, (2) approved passport photographs, an itinerary or program of your trip, and provide evidence of a yellow fever vaccination. Also, you should provide a copy of your hotel reservations with the visa applicants name on the reservation for the hotel, or if staying with family or friends a notarized letter of invitation from them is mandatory.

If you will be traveling on business, a business letter or business invitation will usually be required. A business letter should include an introduction of the applicant, the nature of the business that will be conducted on the trip, and state the type of visa and preferred validity length. Lastly, you will have to prove that you have sufficient funds for your traveling purposes. All of which should be written on the company’s letterhead which you work for.

NOTE: Mauritanian visas also require a sponsor or invitation. After being sponsored or invited, the process of obtaining a Mauritanian visa can take months and will have to be obtained prior to your trip to Mauritania.
